‘The Winterbourne Preludes were commissioned by Colombian guitarist Francisco Correa through his innovative ‘#AdoptAPrelude’ campaign. 12 patrons were invited to ‘adopt’ a prelude: choosing its name and having a say in the creative process. The resultant preludes are highly contrasted in scope and style, from virtuosic moto perpetuo movements to sound-worlds of deep serenity and intimacy. Correa navigates these rapid changes of scenery with great mastery and poise, and the warmth of his playing is beautifully captured by sound engineer Matthew Wadsworth.’
